Bette Appel

Bette Appel has a background in Fine Arts and Architecture. She was the first designer of infant sportswear in the world, as head designer for Charles Pyndick Corp. from 1969-1973.

Bette acquired the trademark No Sweat for sportswear and clothing for men, women and children. She has held this trademark since 1974. It was certified in 1988 (#1516437) and is still in use.

She spent the Summer of 1975 in South Korea as a consultant for the Korean government on the manufacture and marketing of denim to the United States.

After working as head designer in New York for Glenn of Michigan from 1975-1983, Bette opened her own stores and factories in 1985. Her experience is in design, patterns and all aspects of the garment industry production, as well as marketing and sales over a 25-year period.
