Bette Appel
Bette Appel has a background in Fine Arts and Architecture. She
was the first designer of infant sportswear in the world, as head
designer for Charles Pyndick Corp. from 1969-1973.
Bette acquired the trademark No Sweat for sportswear and clothing
for men, women and children. She has held this trademark since 1974.
It was certified in 1988 (#1516437) and is still in use.
She spent the Summer of 1975 in South Korea as a consultant for
the Korean government on the manufacture and marketing of denim
to the United States.
After working as head designer in New York for Glenn of Michigan
from 1975-1983, Bette opened her own stores and factories in 1985.
Her experience is in design, patterns and all aspects of the garment
industry production, as well as marketing and sales over a 25-year
period.
